Frequently Asked Questions
On completion, am I qualified to work in the finance industry?
The CeMAP & CeFA qualifications are your passport to working in the finance industry. With the exams passed, we will then liaise with finance organisations to find you work in this sector.
Can I study for CeMAP & CeFA even if I have no experience?
Yes they can be studied by newcomers to the industry, however, more study time will be needed to assimilate the wealth of knowledge, just ask some of our past students.
How intense are the courses?
The courses are not long but they will need your full attention. The courses are designed to utilise your short-term memory and as you study in the group you are assessed to make sure the information is sticking with you.
How should I study for my CeMAP exam?
With US of course!
In what order should I take the exams?
Generally we recommend taking them in the order of 1, 2 and 3. CeMAP/CeFA 1 is the broadest ranging syllabus and usually requires the most study time, so delegates normally feel that this exam is better behind them. We also recommend that you study for 2 and 3 together because the syllabus is mostly the same for the two papers, effectively only the form of the questions is different. Then once CeMAP 2 is passed, take the CeMAP 3 exam fairly soon afterwards. Some people consider taking CeMAP 2 first because they feel it is the easiest exam, but we strongly recommend against this. The same goes for all the CeFA modules.
How do I obtain the text books and book my exams?
The Institute of Financial Services (www.ifslearning.com) handle all of the administration for the CeMAP qualification. For a fee, they will register you and send you the basic reference text book. We supply all of the additional support material as part of our training service so that you then have everything you need.
Where can I take the exams?
You can take all three exams at one of the 150 Pearsons Exam Centres throughout the UK. These are where you take your Driving Theory Test amongst others. Contact the IFS for an up to date list.
What happens if I don't pass my exams first time?
We have a success pass rate of 96% but in the unlikely event that you don't suceed on your first attempt, your quite welcome to come back and retake our course FREE.
